It's National Pencil Day.

And Eggbert Day (the day Bert comes around singing the Eggbert song).

It'd look cooler if I'd gone all the way with gluing, instead of stopping when it still counts on rubber bands to hold it together, but I shall now share with you some sculpture in tribute to the pencil:



One cool thing you can't see here is the see-through web part of it.  But you can see that effect at the site that inspired the copy:  George Hart's 72 Pencils.
